Hi, my name is Beata, and I live in San Francisco. For over a decade, I have been photographing this city, slowly building a relationship with it through daily walks and careful observation. You can see more of my work on Instagram at @sf.beforesunset.

What draws me to photography is a deep curiosity about the world. I am fascinated by simple, fleeting moments, leaves moving in the wind, sunlight stretching across a sidewalk, fog rolling over the hills, the rhythm of the ocean, or a subtle human gesture. I am calm by nature and I like to listen to what the world is saying. As I walk the streets and hills of San Francisco, I am not only searching for images, but also trying to understand my own place within it.

The city surprises me every time I step outside. It is constantly shifting, and staying present can feel challenging. Still, I try every day to return to the moment in front of me. Sometimes I am lucky enough to fully feel that presence, and I capture a photograph that, for someone else, may become more than just another image of San Francisco.
